Step into the world of pure color. Soft pastels are often described as "painting with dry pigment," offering a brilliance and tactile experience unlike any other medium. In this course, you will learn to harness the immediacy of pastels to create luminous, painterly works of art. We will focus on the unique ability of pastels to layer, blend, and scumble, allowing you to build rich textures and vibrant light effects. Our goals for this course: - The Pastel Palette: Color theory and selecting your "mother color. - Atmospheric Landscapes: Creating depth through soft-focus edges and color temperature. - Tactile Textures: How to render the velvet of a petal or the shimmer of glass. - Luminous Light: Capturing "Golden Hour" glows using high-pigment sticks. - The Finished Piece: Developing composition from initial sketch to final fixative. Our continuous 50-minute weekly classes provide students with the opportunity to progressively develop skills over time. Students advance from level 0 (beginner) to level 4 (master proficiency) and earn Lune Spark Level Certifications along the way. In the event a student decides to withdraw after their initial session, a full refund is offered.
